After The Fire - ATF (1982)

After the Fire (or ATF) are a British rock band that transitioned from playing progressive rock to New Wave over their initial twelve-year career.
They are one of the first to make a synth the lead instrument in the band and in their time '79-82 was the peak period of the band, their unique style was special. Techno before techno was invented, this is more than synth rock since the band's songwriting was always top quality.
“Der Kommissar” is a compilation album released in 1982, featuring the new title track, an English language cover of a minor Falco hit from earlier that year. In the U.S., the album was released simply as “ATF” by Epic Records.
Powerful, catchy, hooky melodies and driving rhythms of the upbeat songs was matched by subtle moments on the slower numbers. Listening it's amazing they didn't have more hit singles since this compilation shows that when it came to creating three minute memorable tunes, they had the chops.

Ted Nugent & The Amboy Dukes - Survival Of The Fittest Live (1971)

Survival of the Fittest Live is the fifth album by The Amboy Dukes featuring Ted Nugent, and was released in 1971. This was the band's second album on Polydor Records.
Recorded live at The Eastowne Theater in Detroit, MI, July 31 and August 1, 1970. This is prime slab of Nugent. It is quite clear what was happening with the Amboy Dukes at this point. If the new name "Ted Nugent AND the Amboy Dukes" doesn't give you a clue, the outrageous guitar antics on the live platter will. Steve Farmer is long gone from here, and only Andy Solomon and Ted Nugent remain from the "original" band who had a big hit with "Journey to the Center of the Mind" a couple of years before this concert was recorded. It was obviously the Ted Nugent show gearing up to become one of the biggest heavy metal concert draws of the '70s and early '80s. The 21-minute-and-20-second epic "Prodigal Man," written by Nugent and sung by keyboardist Andy Solomon features a solo by each of the musicians in the band, with 'ol Uncle Ted finishing things up with some of the aforementioned outrageous guitar antics. Papa's Will" is a stinkin' heavy song and riff.

Art In America - Art In America (1983)

Comprised of 3 family members (Chris, Dan and Shishonee Flynn) along with friends Jim Kuha (bass) and Garry Galloway (added on keyboards in 1996), ART IN AMERICA was discovered by Rick Smith a music attorney with Luongo, Machat & Smith in New York.
Begins as delicate, somewhat elegant album with a pleasing mix of harp, guitar and keyboard that slowly changes to a more arena rock sound with progressive touches that make the band sounds like Asia meets Breathe. A pretty and slightly mystic album with hints of album rock and pop
